Overview

Emeralds are the premium currency in Sea of Conquest and must be spent with care, as they are not freely available in large quantities. They are used primarily to summon heroes through the Lucky Draw system, but can also be spent on speed-ups, gang founding, and purchases in the Rock Merchant shop.

For free-to-play (F2P) players, a strategic approach to collecting and spending Emeralds is critical. Misspending Emeralds means losing valuable progression opportunities — smart spending allows a player to remain competitive without real-money purchases.

Details

Uses for Emeralds

Use F2P Priority Description
Hero Summoning (Lucky Draw) Very High Primary use; Legendary heroes are essential for progression; the most impactful Emerald investment
Speed-Ups for Construction High Emeralds can be converted to speed-ups; most valuable for long build or research timers on flagship-level upgrades
Gang Founding Medium Costs Emeralds; only worthwhile if an active player group is already available
Rock Merchant Medium Valuable items such as resources and rare materials can be purchased here
Ship Upgrades Medium Emeralds can be used for certain ship upgrades
Time-Limited Purchases Low Only in exceptional cases — e.g., limited offers with exceptional value
Equipment Enhancement Very Low (Trap!) Spending Emeralds on equipment below Legendary Level 12 is inefficient — wait until you have Level 12 Legendary gear

Free Emerald Sources for F2P Players

Source Estimated Amount Frequency Notes
Weekly Daily Tasks (Chest Level 20) 40 Emeralds Weekly Requires daily play over 7 days; most consistent source
Trials – AFK Rewards 5–15 Emeralds Daily Passive source; must be claimed regularly; beginner-friendly
Squad Raids 10–30 Emeralds Daily Depends on difficulty and success; more efficient with a gang
Grand Odyssey Variable (high) Seasonal / server timeline Emeralds unlocked by completing objectives in the server story
Events (general) Variable Ongoing Every event delivers Emeralds at milestones; consistent participation is key
Cooking Catalog (Recipes) 5–10 Emeralds per recipe One-time (per recipe) Often overlooked; each newly completed recipe rewards Emeralds
Account Binding Bonus 100 Emeralds One-time (per channel) Up to 3 channels (FunPlus, Facebook, Google); up to 300 Emeralds total
Promo Codes 20–100 Emeralds Irregular Shared on social media, Discord, livestreams; time-limited
Gang Membership 10–20 Emeralds Occasional On joining a gang + from the gang treasury (Gang Stash)
Cumulative Daily Rewards 5–15 Emeralds Daily Unlocked at Adventure Level 3; simply logging in is sufficient

Monthly F2P Emerald Estimate

While exact figures depend on activity level and current events, an approximate monthly total for an active F2P player can be estimated:

Source Estimated Monthly Income
Weekly Daily Tasks (×4 weeks) ~160 Emeralds
Daily AFK Trial Rewards ~150–300 Emeralds
Squad Raids (daily) ~200–600 Emeralds
Event Milestones (ongoing) ~100–300 Emeralds
Promo Codes (average) ~50–100 Emeralds
Cooking Catalog (progress) ~50–100 Emeralds (variable)
Total (Estimate) ~710–1,560 Emeralds/month

This estimate shows that consistent F2P players can earn roughly 700–1,500 Emeralds per month — enough for several Echo Conch summons or occasional speed-up purchases.

F2P vs. Whale Comparison

Aspect Free-to-Play Paying Player (Whale)
Emeralds/month ~700–1,500 (free) Tens of thousands (purchased)
Hero summons Slow; targeted pulls required Many pulls; fast Legendary collection
Speed-ups Must be used sparingly Can be used generously
Gang founding Possible but rarely prioritized Often founded early
PvP competitiveness Medium; very achievable with smart strategy High; broader hero roster
Long-term progression Slower but sustainable Significantly faster

Best Uses for Emeralds: Priority Ranking

Priority Rank Use Reason
1 Hero Summoning (at pity) Legendary heroes are the single greatest power multiplier; never waste pulls
2 Speed-Ups for flagship upgrades Flagship level gates all content; long timers make Emerald speed-ups high-value
3 Rock Merchant offers (rare materials) Specific rare items only available here; evaluate each offer carefully
4 Gang Founding One-time cost; pays off for long-term active leaders
5 Speed-Ups for research (long timers only) Only worthwhile for timers exceeding several hours
6 Ship upgrades Situational; lower priority than heroes or flagship

Tips

  • Save Emeralds exclusively for hero summons: Heroes are the most important growth factor in Sea of Conquest. Never spend Emeralds on minor conveniences when a strong hero is within reach of the pity system.
  • Wait for the pity system (80 pulls): On Limited Recruitment banners, a Legendary hero is guaranteed within 80 Hymn Conches. Accumulate 80 Hymn Conches before pulling for guaranteed results.
  • Link your account to all 3 channels: FunPlus, Facebook, and Google each award 100 Emeralds as a one-time bonus — a total of 300 Emeralds for just a few minutes of setup.
  • Claim your daily AFK Trial rewards: These Emeralds do not expire, but are only earned if you claim them regularly. Never neglect this passive source.
  • Redeem promo codes immediately: Codes expire quickly. Follow Sea of Conquest official social media channels and the Discord server to avoid missing any codes.
  • Avoid equipment upgrades below Legendary Level 12: Enhancing equipment below this threshold wastes Emeralds and resources. Wait until you have Level 12 Legendary gear.
  • Do not use Emeralds on short construction timers: Speed-ups paid for with Emeralds are only worthwhile for very long build or research timers (flagship level, key buildings). Never spend Emeralds to skip timers of a few minutes.
  • Use event milestones consistently: Every ongoing event has milestones with Emerald rewards. Open the Events tab regularly and complete tasks even when they are not your main focus.
